ATTIRE - TUXEDOS
Biltmore Tuxedos (Ridgewood, NJ)
REVIEW - rlavach: April 2012. B+ We met Biltmore Tuxedo of Ridgewood at a bridal show and decided to go to the Rutherford location since it was closer. Their prices were competitive and selection was decent. We ended up going with something different than I intended, but it looked good. The staff was a bit insistent on going a more traditional route, but obliged to my requests. The suit fit my DH great and made him look extra special. I was very disappointed to see that the groomsmen were given the wrong tuxedos. The groom & groomsmen were supposed to be in the same gray Calvin Klein tuxedo. The groom with ivory vest/tie and the groomsmen with pink vest/tie. They were given black tuxedos with black vest/tie. Of course, none of the guys or my DH realized the mistake. I was the first one to catch it…on our wedding day. Obviously, there was nothing can could be done at that point. I really did NOT want any black since I felt that was more formal than called for. Again, there was nothing I could do.
REVIEW - Laurms15: April 2010 wedding. DH, my dad, and the groomsmen all ordered tuxes from there the service
was great and they took care of any nips and tucks and changes on the
Friday before the wedding and they all looked very handsome!
ChazMaTazz Formalwear (Princeton, NJ & Toms River, NJ)
REVIEW - NikkiPSU: June 2011 wedding. No problems at all! They were even able to accommodate 2 groomsmen getting tuxes on Saturday morning since their flights delayed them from getting it on Friday.
Cozy Formalwear (Wayne, Nutley, Morristown, Red Bank, & Westfield)
REVIEW: August 2011. Nutley location. We had a HORRIBLE experience here that caused much unneeded stress 48 hours prior to the wedding. My fiance and a couple of groomsmen went to pick up their tuxes and there was one problem after the next. It ranged from pants being too short, buttons missing on shirts, stains on the grooms vest, wrinkled shirts, and jackets too short. My MIL law needed to make several trips to straighten everything out. In the end it all ended up getting straightened out, but just created unnecessary stress. I would not recommend this place.
REVIEW - N/A: 2011 wedding. Westfield store. I don’t know much about tuxes, but the people who helped us out at the Cozy Tux in Westfield were nice and seemed to be knowledgeable. I’ve read a lot of negative reviews about various tux shops and I think one of the problems is that the guys don’t try on their entire outfits when picking them up and don’t check the bag to make sure everything they need is in there (a left and right shoe, cufflinks, etc). Luckily, I went with our guys and practically dragged them into the fitting rooms to put their tuxes on, and in the end they were grateful because one pair of pants was too short, the groom’s jacket was a bit too large, and the pants of another guy had clearly seen better days. The person helping us that day was able to give all of them better fitting (and better looking) replacements right away and noone had a problem on the day of the wedding (as far as I know). The prices seemed to be fine (nothing amazing) and the service was above average (but again, nothing too special).
Dante Zeller (various locations in NJ, NY, & CT)
REVIEW - cindyn9178: September 2011. (A) (Linden) Nobody had any major issues with their tuxedos. The groom's pants were 1 1/2 inches too short, so they had to be fixed, and picked up the day before the wedding. My dad's vest was missing a button, and his tux sleeves were too long, so he also had to pick up the tux the day before the wedding. Other than that, no issues, and I would recommend them.
REVIEW: -cutiepie12702: August 2011.Dante Tuxedos – B+ – I can’t really complain about Dante’s. Every time I was there they were helpful. Some people did need some small alterations done but nothing major. The only hiccup that made me not give them an A is that while we were at Monmouth University taking pictures, my DH’s shoe broke! The sole completely separated from the upper and he had to walk around flip flopping. We laughed about it, but he had to call my Dad to run to the mall (which thankfully was right around the corner from the venue) and have him get a new pair of shoes, and they weren’t even the same style he originally had. He ended up using his Dad’s shoes so that he matched the rest of the groomsmen. Fortunately it wasn’t a huge inconvenience for us, but it’s really not something you need to go wrong on your wedding day.
REVIEW - rutgersgirl82: Used stores in Wayne, Verona & Bridgewater. We
had a great experience with tuxes at Dante's. We placed the order at
the Wayne location in the Willowbrook Mall. The sales woman was
extremely helpful and helped with some opinions and showed us the suits
and different options. After going to Men's Wearhouse this was a
completely different experience. We picked out beautiful, sharp looking
Calvin Klein tuxes that all the guys commented they really liked. We
were both very happy with the selection they had and their customer
service was good, no one had any problems with any of their tuxes.
Enzo's Tailor and Tuxedo (Cliffside Park, NJ)
REVIEW - dalmatinka77: My husband is tall and thin. Every time he's ever rented a tuxedo for Mens Warehouse or Zellers they ALWAYS screw up. He used Enzo's for his brothers wedding and the man knows and loves what he does. He fit ever man, father, and ring bearer perfectly and they were all comfortable (yes, even 2 little boys were comfortable). The prices are comparable to the big chain and the grooms tux was free, plus he gives you an extra day to return the suits rather than the big guys wanting it back the next business day.
Forum Tuxedos (Hazlet, NJ)
REVIEW - felicia220: We had a really wonderful experience from choosing my husband's tuxedo
to picking them up. We rented 12 tuxedos (All the men in my family
wanted to wear one, also keep in mind they every family member was able
to choose whatever combination and color they wanted). We had 2 people
from out of state. They handled the OOT Tuxedos extremely well. We also
had two people who lost weight from the time of their first fitting.
The owner is also a Tailor so it was great to have them altered right
then and there. All in all, one of our best vendors.
Hollywood Bridal (Kenilworth, NJ)
Jos. A. Bank (various U.S. locations)
REVIEW - gymchick05: June 2011 wedding. I think every men’s tux rental place has issues. I don’t think anyone in our wedding party didn’t have a problem, but the worst was them sending the grooms tux to the wrong store and instead of telling him, just kept telling him it wasn’t in yet when he kept calling the store it was supposed to be at. Good thing my dad asked about the grooms tux at the other store and we found it. No one’s tux fit right, so they all needed more time to be fixed, but the day off, they were all fitted and fine. They did forget to give my now husband a tie though, so his dad gave him his and went out and bought another one. Not a great experience, but I don’t think it would have been much better elsewhere. At least the grooms tux was free and the colors all matched.
REVIEW - flochan07: We had visited the North Brunswick branch in the early evening only to find out that nobody in the store knew how to operate the rental system as the system is brand new and not everybody had been trained. We did however look through the books and choose what styles and colors we wanted so the entire trip to the North Brunswick branch wasn't a complete waste. Fiance also had his measurements taken there. We placed our tux rental order through the Bridgewater branch. The store manager Anthony was helpful and placed the order without any hitches. We also received prompt calls when our tux rentals were in (5 days in advance). Unfortunately everybody in the wedding party that was getting tux rentals also needed to have items resized upon trying them out. The exchange process was quick and simple but it put a bit of stress on me as the exchanged pieces weren't coming in until Friday (2 days prior). We had to call the branch to confirm that the exchanged pieces were in even though they said they would call each groomsmen. One lazy groomsmen even tried on the tux rental the first time around on Friday and they still managed to get the exchanged piece in time.
Men's Wearhouse (various U.S. locations)
REVIEW-Em72653: Tuxes: Mens Warehouse, Woodbridge NJ A
Everything went well, no sizing issues or wrong colors or anything like some of the stories you hear from brides who have used them. Great customer service at this store. We were satisfied.

REVIEW: August 2011. Livingston Mall) A We really had no complaints with Men's Warehouse, all of the guys were able to go in and get measured with no problems, and only one person had a length issue when he picked it up, but it was easily resolved. They looked great on the guys and they were all comfortable in them!
REVIEW - ev4149: Freehold location. Men's Wearhouse was an okay experience. They were very nice when we went in to talk about what we were interested. However, problems arose at the time of pick up. They gave one groomsman a shirt that was way too small, another groomsman a shirt that was stained, and did not have the vest and tie for my dad when he went to pick it up (they had to rush it, and he had to pick it up the morning of the wedding). One groomsman ended up with a jacket that was missing a button. At the end of the day it all worked out, but there seemed to be a lot of missteps on the pick up.
REVIEW - N/A: Okay so I think this was the only vendor that I was really pissed off with. We used them because the colors match David's Bridal. We had twelve tuxes for the wedding - 8 gms, 2 dad's, my husband, and my ringbearer. They have you pick up your tux two days before - my husband and his dad went and it turns out they had been mismeasured because neither tux fit (the fitting was about two weeks earlier) and some were wrinkled, even though my fi had lost 5 lbs since his last fitting it was like 3 inches too small. Also, one of his groomsemn had a tux that was totally wrinkled and he threw a fit in the store because they ddin't want to press it. The next day new tuxes for both - my FIL had the wrong color vest and tie his matched the groomsmen and not my dad. The sleeves on my husband's jacket were too long. And his white bowtie was dirty. My SIL took down the appropriate number to make a complaint because they werej totally unprofessional. I would not recommend using them to anyonebut if you do just make sure that you have the guys try on their tuxes immediately - do not wait until the day before the wedidng. So much for their guarantee. We used the location in Edgewater for the local ones. I think the one from Totowa was fine. We did have a problem with one from Staten Island as well. Note: I called customer service and I was at least issued a refund for my husband's tuxedo.
REVIEW - kristen8040: All of the tuxes had to be altered, but since the guys all went two days earlier, they were able to get fixed. The big issue came with my DH's nephew's tux getting sent to Roanoke, VA where they're from yet his dad's was not. DH caused a bit of a scene in men's warehouse lol and they offered to overnight the tux and drive it to the hotel the morning of. My BIL decided to pick it up anyway incase it had to be altered. When my dad returned the tux's the next Monday, they credited him the full amount for the tux.
REVIEW - melliott09: We got my husbands and 3 kid’s tuxedo’s at the Men's Wearhouse in Piscataway. Great service for a chain, decent quality, and prices you can’t beat, since we didn’t have a wedding party, we paid for all 4 tuxedo’s and it was about $350.00.
REVIEW - Reilly626: We had a great experience with MW. Our groomsmen were scattered all over
the country, so MW made it easy for us since they are national. Each guy
could go in their own city to give their measurements. My husband got
his tux for free and could choose any upgraded style he wanted. The
tuxes came in, we checked them all and we were good to go. The service
here was awesome (specifically the Piscataway store). The only thing that was kind of annoying is that they
needed to be returned the day after the wedding. Two days later would
be nice!
The Clothing Center (East Brunswick, NJ)
WEBSITEReview -37butterknives: April 2011 wedding. Everything was purchased - a black tuxedo for the groom, and gray suits and colored ties and squares for the other gentlemen. The service was great, and the tailoring was perfect. All our groomsmen were local, so everyone got measured and tailored in person. One of them was so impressed with his experience that he used them for tux rentals for his own wedding.
Sarno and Son (locations in PA, NY, NJ, CT, MD, DE, OH, WV, VA, DC)
Starlight Tuxedo (Bloomfield, NJ)
REVIEW - N/A: June 2011 wedding. We worked with Al at the shop (which is in the same shop as Arlene's
Bridal - it's the right of the shop) he was very knowledgeable and
actually took the time to explain to us what was proper as far as colors
for shirts, helped us pick out coordinating vests/ties for the
groomsmen and helped my FI and I convince our dads to swap out bow ties
for straight ties for a more updated look. He was very helpful and spent
over an hour with us having the guys try on different looks. The tux
rentals range from $99-$150 depending on tux selected and the shoe
rentals are around $20. So far no complaints - we'll see how they do
after the wedding!
The Tux Shop (Bayonne, NJ)
REVIEW - mbcdefg: I had nothing to do with the tux selection, so this review is coming
from DH's comments. Our fathers and two groomsmen all live nearby, so we
went with a small local shop instead of a big chain. When the guys
tried them on a few days before the wedding, a few things didn't fit
right, but everything was straightened out at the store. I thought they
all looked great at the wedding.
V.I.P. Tuxedos (Brick, NJ)
REVIEW - N/A: June 2011 wedding. No problems here. Guys got their tuxedos in perfect condition.
