BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHERS
Angela Pilat (Milford, NJ & Mohnton, PA)
REVIEW - Laurms15: I did an album with Angela and she was amazing. She came to my house in
December and we chatted about my likes/hobbies and we went from there.
She took a ton in my kitchen because I love to cook/bake and DH loves to
enjoy whatever I cook/bake. We also took a bunch on my bed because I
made our duvet cover and pillows. So that made it very special. The
album she put together was great and I had a really hard time picking
which ones to use. DH loved it!
Jenerations (Queens, NY)
REVIEW - N/A: Jen and the makeup artist she uses, Oksana, are both incredible. I drove out to Queens and was beyond nervous for the entire ride, but as soon as I walked in Jen's door she greeted me with a huge smile and started talking to me like we were old friends. When Oksana arrived to do my makeup (PS - it looked PHENOMENAL and I wish I could have used her for my wedding day but she's all the way up in Queens, too), it was the same story - we talked like we had known each other forever. The whole relaxed environment completely calmed all of my nerves and butterflies so that by the time I was ready to get in front of the camera I was way calmer that I expected to be. In fact, what made it all even better was that during the photo shoot Jen and I continued just shooting the breeze and she had her iPod so there was fun music in the background the entire time. I brought a bunch of outfits with me and showed them to Jen to get her opinion when I first arrived and she told me flat out which ones would photograph best, so those were the ones I used. She wound up taking about 500 pictures over the course of an hour to an hour and a half and I did a ton of different poses and outfit changes. She does the photo sessions in an upstairs room of her house that's solely dedicated to boudoir shoots and it has its own bathroom to change in, which I was very grateful for. Right after the shoot, I sat with Jen's assistant to go over the pictures and to pick out my favorite 50 to be edited. Even without the editing, the angles, lighting, and poses Jen used on me made me look fabulous and I was practically in tears while going through the pictures. A few weeks later when I got the "50" edited photos in my inbox, I was beyond shocked to realize that she had sent me all 50 in 4 different formats (normal, sepia, black and white, and a bit of an antique-looking style), so I really had 200 pictures to choose from to make an album! I didn't order a photo book through Jen because I wanted my own creative license, so I created one on Picaboo and it came out fabulous! Overall, my experience with Jen and Oksana was truly amazing and I would recommend them both in a heartbeat to anyone who is looking to have boudoir pictures done as a gift to your husband or fiance, a gift to yourself, or both! :-)

CARD BOXES
The Perfect Cardbox/Kelly Marie Collections (website)
REVIEW - Renee1105: I ordered their "perfect" cardbox and it was anything but perfect. When I opened the box the entire thing was filled with dust and dirt. When assembling it I noticed that the Plexiglas pieces for the frames were all scratched. I emailed the company to see if they could send me some replacement parts but they said there was nothing they could do for me since the order was placed a few months ago.
CATERING
Due Amici (Cinnaminson, NJ)
REVIEW - dinnaming: July 2011 wedding. When we first met with Due Amici, we met with Kevin, who is now their restaurant manager. He seemed to know what he was talking about so we were excited to work with him. They’ve since hired Jennifer as their banquet manager. And thankfully, she was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was responsive to all my e-mails, questions, and changes to the seating chart… and we had quite a few. When we met to go over the day-of schedule, my hubby and I thought they were crazy when they said they could serve dinner in 10 minutes. But that they did! Not only were they efficient, they were barely noticeable. We had 11 servers and I barely noticed them. They were also extremely attentive. We didn’t spend much time at our sweetheart table but they were there to ask if we needed anything, any time we did manage to sit. The food was delicious and plentiful. On top of all that, they were budget friendly.
Sterling Affair (New York, NY & Carlstadt, NJ)
REVIEW - Laurms15: April 2010 wedding. I LOVED working with them. The food was amazing and everyone is still
complimenting the food. They have an in house pastry chef who did a
beautiful cake! Their staff was on top of everything. The went over and
above to make everything perfect! The brought DH and I a platter of all
of the cocktail hour food to the Bridal Suite so we could eat in peace
for a few min before we went out to cocktail hour then while at cocktail
hour we wouldn't feel pressured to try to eat everything because we had
already tasted it. I also loved that they served us first every time so
that we could eat and then still have time to do a few tables during
each course. They even made a small cake with a candle for us to present
to my grandma for her 90th b-day! My only slight complaint was that
there was SO much leftover groom's cake I wish they had served more of
it.
Twin Oaks Caterers (East Brunswick, NJ)
REVIEW: October 2011. (A+++++++++) Twin Oaks is the Rutgers Gardens’ preferred caterer & now I know why. They are AMAZING. Mike Pelligra was a savior during this entire process. He helped me stay within our budget without taking away from the quality of the food, worked with other vendors (he got a bigger truck to bring the chairs I rented b/c the rental company wouldn’t deliver the day of the reception), and was so easy to get in contact with. The food was delicious and everyone loved the options we had. We have a lot of vegetarian friends/picky eaters so we had 1 beef, 1 chicken, 1 fish, eggplant parm, roasted pepper ravioli, scalloped potatoes (I’m still dreaming about them, lol), rice, & vegetables. We kept the cocktail hour a bit simpler but everyone thought it was delicious. All this food had us at $59.95 per adult. Our cake was included in the price through Palermo Bakery. Mike works with a liquor store on consignment so our open bar was VERY affordable (about $6 a person) & the bartender was hired through them. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about them. The staff was sweet, helpful, & fast. They helped with everything & were readily available if I needed anything. They even packed up the leftover food for us. Our wedding couldn’t have been as wonderful or gone as smoothly without them. So happy & grateful for their work.
CIGAR ROLLERS
Scott Roth Events
Photobooth & Cigar Roller
REVIEW: September 2011. Scott Roth Events – B
Pros: We got a great deal on the photobooth/cigar roller. Everything/everyone arrived on time and was set up on time as well. People had a lot of fun doing the photobooth, and the cigar roller was a huge hit, and it was great that he brought pre-rolled cigars because people were also able to take them for the afterparty. .
Cons: Once Scott had my deposit, he was extremely difficult to get in contact with. Every time I needed to reach him (for very basic things) it would take 3-5 e-mails and 1-2 facebook messages. Also, he told me in writing that he would be the one to work the photobooth at the wedding, however there were 2 different people instead, and the photobooth actually broke for a few minutes with my husband and myself inside it. Also, when we met he told me he would be bringing a ton of props including a big gold frame that is currently featured on his facebook page, however no props were brought at all. Luckily, we had our own. Also, I asked Scott if I should make a sign for the photobooth, and he told me no they would provide it, however there was no sign and the photobooth went COMPLETELY unused for the entire 90 minute cocktail hour until the band announced it.
Bottom Line: For the rate we paid I think the photobooth and especially cigar roller were a huge hit, however Scott was extremely unorganized throughout the entire process.

DANCE LESSONS
Arthur Murray (various locations throughout the country)
Brandis Dance Theatre (several locations in Central NJ)
REVIEW - GilMoses: I can't say enough about our dance instructor Brandis and her husband were fantastic. There prices are extremely fair and more importantly she created something really beautiful. To be honest my fiancee and myself are as inexperienced as it comes and she worked with us and created something really elegant and spent so much time with us. You can tell each lesson she had considered teh dance and made adjustments to suit our needs and abilities. We even invited her to our wedding because we enjoyed her lessons so much.
REVIEW - Reilly626: Brandis designed a whole first dance routine for us, everyone loved it
and was so surprised. She is a wonderful teacher with great prices and
creativity. A true professional!
Starlight Dance Center (Nutley, NJ)
REVIEW - rutgersgirl82: We did their package of 5 wedding dance lessons and it was perfect.
Everyone commented at the wedding that they loved our dance. Our
instructor was absolutely wonderful and so fun and easy to work with.
She made it so simple to learn the steps.
FAVORS
Paper Mart
REVIEW - N/A: We purchased our favor boxes from Paper Mart and couldn't be happier. They were the perfect color (the pictures on the website are almost true-to-life but actually a bit brighter in person), the quality is fantastic, and the prices on the site can't be beat! We bought the Colored High Gloss Tuck Top Boxes in Posy.
Plant a Memory
www.plantamemory.com
REVIEW - music11: October 2012. This company specializes in "plantable" wedding favors--bulbs, seeds, seedlings, etc. We ordered daffodil and iris bulbs from them. The packaging (favor boxes) come as soon as you place your order, and they are easy to assemble. The bulbs come a couple of weeks before your wedding date. Shipping was exactly as described, there were no problems with timing whatsoever. Guests really liked their favors, and we liked that they weren't just another trinket to throw away.

REVIEW - jcg98: November 2011. A+ We waited for a sale week and saved a ton of money. I ordered totes for the girls, which I filled with other goodies, and my H ordered different things for the guys based on their interests – a cooler with built in MP3 player, a grill set, a combination backpack/cooler, and a gym bag. We had everything monogrammed. Turnaround time was quick (except for one thing that was backordered, which I knew going in, and we had plenty of time) and the quality was good. I had an issue with the way two of the monograms turned out, and customer service worked with me and replaced both items free of charge. We also ordered monogramed cocktail napkins for the reception. Highly recommend.

REVIEW - alykat216: June 2011. Great experience!! I saw a headpiece I really wanted that was out of stock so I emailed them regarding it. The woman who was helping me was so nice. The original one was not available so she offered me 3 different options and said she would give me 10% off. I ended up going with a different one which was not discounted but the price was still good. I was nervous about ordering online and she made an exception to do a return on it if I was not happy (they do not do returns on designer items). My order was processed quickly and was sent USPS with free shipping. It is just beautiful and I am so happy with it!
Distinctive Veils and Accessories (website)
REVIEW - rr2011: May 2011. Loved the veil, and even spoke with customer service who was very helpful but delivery was a bit off. I had to email in order to get my shipment sent on time or it would have been late. The veil, like I said, was fantastic, comb was perfect, sheerness of the veil was exactly what I wanted. Just wish I didn’t have to follow-up on delivery.
Greek Stephana (website)
REVIEW - N/A: July 2011. We emailed them two and a half weeks before our wedding during a minor freak out when we realized we didn't have a stefana set for our ceremony and we couldn't find something nice anywhere in the state for a good price. Not only did they get back to me right away and assure us that they would rush them to us at no extra charge, but they also had some of the best prices around (most websites and stores were charging $150 to $300 for a decent looking set). The stefana arrived in less than a week and the set looks beautiful and was packaged and shipped very nicely. We couldn't be more pleased!
MEN'S GROOMING

REVIEW - While my bridesmaids and I had our girls' day at the spa before the wedding, my fiancee and his groomsmen did the groomsmen package at Roosters Men's Grooming Center. It was such a hit! All the guys loved it and came back looking so dapper. They all got the straight razor shave with the hot towel treatment and said it was so relaxing. It was a great way for the guys to bond together as they got ready for the big day. Call ahead at (973) 265-0999 to make an appointment. They also have a store in Summit, NJ. A++++++

ICE SCULPTURES
Jimmy's Artistic Creations (East Rutherford, NJ)
REVIEW - gymchick05: June 2011 wedding. Jimmy created the most amazing Chicago Bears football themed martini ice luge for our cocktail hour. It was incredible! It looked just like I imagined and everyone loved it! Huge hit and a great way to serve our signature drink!
PARTY RENTALS
Grand Rental Station (Bridgewater, NJ)
REVIEW - flochan07: May 2011 wedding. I can not speak highly enough about this rental company. Not only was Kristin the most patient person to work with me, she also went out of her way to ensure that I would be happy and as stress free as possible for the wedding. From drawing out different diagrams so that I could choose the seating layout of the tent to upgrading my tent space for free when she realized the tent she quoted me was too small for our wedding size this vendor was an absolute joy to work with. The workers called me the day of to confirm the tent was going up and they had even sent me picture texts of the final product. No deposit was necessary and I wasn't charged until the day of the event. They do have a 25% cancellation policy if you cancel within 5 days of the event.
PHOTO BOOTHS
DJ Event
REVIEW: August 2011. This was a highlight of our wedding. It was full all night. I think our coordinator even stayed an extra half hour. Great to work with, great pictures and props. Our guests loved it! We got an amazing "guest book" at the end of the night with all our pictures. He even printed out multiples for large groups. I loved that they custom designed the labels for the pictures as well.
Boardwalk Photo Booth Rentals (Woodbine, NJ)
REVIEW - gia0404: I spoke to Scott the owner a few times thru email & he gave me a fantastic price. I couldn't be happier with them. My photobooth assistant was Robert, who I highly recommend. He kept 'traffic' flowing, there was never any long line & my book came out beautiful. Pictures are of great quality & I have already used them again.

REVIEW - jcg98: November 2011. A+ This was a last-minute booking, I really wanted the photobooth but couldn’t justify the cost. However there was a Groupon about a week before the wedding, the price was right, and they were available for our date. (Note: for anyone considering any service via Groupon etc., I highly recommend calling the company first to make sure they can accommodate your date!) The deal was for 3 hours, and my only regret is that I didn’t pay for another hour! Our guests absolutely loved the photobooth. We opted not to pay extra for a scrapbook since we already had a photo guestbook. We got a copy of each strip taken, customized with our names and the date, plus a flash drive with all the photos. Highly recommend.

Go Festive! (Philadelphia, PA)
REVIEW - N/A: June 2011 wedding. The photo booth was great! This was one of my special touches and I got tons of compliments on it. My photo guestbook turned out great especially with all of the fun costumes and props. The only thing that I would do differently is that I kept this as a surprise but I wish I had told more people to go/gone in more times myself. My fiance's friend used this vendor but this was also a knottie rec so thank you.
Magnolia Photo Booth Co (Brooklyn, NY)
WEBSITE
Review -37butterknives: April 2011 wedding. These guys are sensational! They're on the high end for photo booths, but we were lucky to get a great deal. It's a hardbody photo booth, and it comes with fun and silly props, including various goofy hats, feather boas, a chalkboard and the ever-popular mustaches on sticks. And the print quality is impressive. Our guests went crazy, and we paid to keep it open longer.
Keep in mind that duplicate prints (if you're doing a photo guestbook) are an additional $75, and you'll have to supply the book, pens and adhesive yourself.

Masters of Fun Entertainment (Cherry Hill, NJ)
REVIEW - mbcdefg: I'd wanted a photobooth at my wedding for several years now, but once we
got into the actual planning I put the idea to the side because I
couldn't justify the cost. Within the week before the wedding, though, I
finally convinced myself and DH to book one. I contacted a few
companies and asked if I could get a price break since I was booking so
close, and Masters of Fun gave me the lowest quote. It got great reviews
on the South Jersey board so I decided to book them. They were
all set up once we arrived at the hall and I saw several people carrying
around the photo strips. When DH and I got in the booth, I was
disappointed to see that the booth appeared to be just a digital camera
inside of a box, instead of other photobooths that I've seen at weddings
and down the Shore. (When I booked them and gave them the dimensions
for The Tides' doorways, they said that they'd need to send us their
"portable" booth instead of the standard one, but assured us that the
quality was the same. I don't know if their "standard" booth looks the
same inside, or if the portable one is the only one with this kind of
setup.) It wasn't a big deal, since our guests seemed to love it, but I
just thought it'd be a little more polished-looking. I don't think
anyone but me noticed, though ... DH said it was great and he can be
really picky, so I guess it was fine. The photobooth attendant
was nice and he helped people set up their pictures in a scrapbook for
us. We got a ton of funny photos and we couldn't stop laughing at the
album once we retrieved it from my parents after coming back from our
honeymoon. The fee also included a CD of everyone's photos, which we
received two weeks after the wedding. Most of the photos were great, but
quite a few were blurry because of people moving around in the booth
while the photo was being taken. It was also clear from the pictures
that a lot of people were confused as to when the photo was actually
being taken (a green light on the camera went off four times to take
four photos, with no kind of warning flash or on-screen countdown). For
the price, though, I think we got a very good deal. I was very pleased
with MOF's customer service ... the owner, Dave, always answered my
e-mails within a few minutes and he negotiated with me on the price.Overall, I'm glad we did it and I consider it money well-spent because it was clearly a big hit.
Memory Lane Photo Booths (Hillsborough, NJ)
REVIEW: -cutiepie12702: August 2011. A – We got a great price from this company and used them for five hours. Everyone had a great time taking pictures and I wish I would have had more time to take advantage of the booth myself. A few times when we had questions they would take a while to respond, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. I would use them again and recommend them.
REVIEW - dinnaming: July 2011 wedding. Wioletta was wonderful to work with. She worked with our budget and responded to e-mails/inquiries immediately. If you haven’t noticed already-- quick e-mail response time is very important to me. The two attendants who were there the day-of were very nice and easy to work with. They needed hubby and I to get in the booth to get a picture of us for the cover of our photo album (included in the package) and kept sending people to come get us throughout the night. It was pretty funny but their persistence was appreciated because without it... we may never have made it there.

Photobooth & Cigar Roller
WEBSITE

REVIEW - Babycakes SE: May 2011 wedding. My attendant was amazing and really got everyone into it! He was so funny and so nice! :o) I highly recommend their company as they were super responsive from beginning to end. The final product was amazing! The only reason I'm not giving them an A+ is because I thought their prices weren’t that great. I tried negotiating but I barely go anywhere. BUT they were worth every cent I paid.
UPLIGHTING
Infinity Studios Custom Lighting & Events (Randolph, NJ)
REVIEW - smw42: October 2010 wedding. We added on uplighting to our DJ package booked through Infinity
Entertainment. We were happy with the results and it looked wonderful
the night of the wedding as well is in the photos. I feel that we could
have purchased the uplighting cheaper through a different vendor but it
was convenient and did the job.

REVIEW - gymchick05. June 2011 wedding. Jim was so terrific to work with. I really loved the look of uplighting & thought it would give our ballroom an extra special touch. Jim went above and beyond and made the room look amazing!!! It was better then I could even image and the gobo was terrific as well. He was so easy to work with and was so flexible when I made a few last minute changes. Thank you so much for making our wedding look so wonderful!
REVIEW - N/A: June 2011 wedding. They did my gobo and it was perfect! My contact was a bit unresponsive at first but on the day of it was pure professionalism and I was happy that I did it. Our technician even gave me a copy of our monogram at the end.
Strike Sound Entertainment
REVIEW: September 2011. D - Pros: Jack was always responsive and receptive of everything we discussed. He arrived and set everything up and broke everything down on time. The price was also excellent, but sometimes you get what you pay for…
Cons: Despite the fact that we showed Jack pictures exactly of what we wanted in the actual room, the uplighting was not visible at ALL, and I actually thought it had not arrived until I walked over to a wall and saw it. Looking at some guest photos now it is completely not visible. Didn’t impact the wedding in a negative way at all because The Manor was gorgeous, however it was a complete waste of money.
