VIDEOGRAPHERS
1-2 Remember Studios (Franklin, NJ)
REVIEW: June 2011. We used 1-2 Remember Studios for our wedding and were SO happy we did! Both Justin and our second videographer did a fantastic job! The day of they were a pleasure to be around. They didn’t miss a second of the ceremony or reception and recorded every detail I asked them to. I even asked Justin at the last minute (as I was getting ready that morning) to interview a few of our family members, and he did just want I asked. They were completely unobtrusive and I barely even noticed they were there when filming. The video itself is amazing! The montages are just beautiful and it is so fun to just watch the day over and over again. I cant recommend them highly enough! Justin is very organized, laid back, and incredibly talented. You wont be disappointed. You can see our highlight video here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBI_rBztQ5s
My only complaint was he didnt ask me for the names of the bridal party for the credits and just didnt add it. I asked about it and he just said he didnt have the names. I figured he would have asked me before making the video and Im sure if I wanted to complain he'd add them, but it really isnt a big deal to me since our BP was all family so we wont forget who they were :)

REVIEW - N/A: June 2011 wedding. This is tentative as I haven’t seen the photos or video yet (photos should be up this week!). But just from working with them I have to say they have great customizable packages at relatively affordable prices and the quality of their work I have seen is wonderful. Our photographer was Steve and he was really nice. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication between the studio and him and our failure to reiterate the plans for the day and he left just after 11pm (per the time stamp on his photos, I don’t really know when he left b/c he never said goodbye which I think is really weird still) So photos of us in the surprise 1965 Silver Ghost Rolls Royce were only captured by a friend, we had communicated via email to the studio he was to stay until we left the venue, but that info wasn’t passed along to him I guess. I feel our photography before the reception was stellar. But after I feel we all sort of dropped the ball. J & I were too busy socializing and forgot all about the other posed photos we wanted to take. We stupidly never gave our list to someone else to keep track of, and the photographer never reminded us to grab our aunts/uncles whatever and snap a photo. We talked to the manager at the studio and to make up for the miscommunication and missed photos he is giving us additional “extras” items and more money towards our portrait credit to make up for it. We’ll see once I get the photos and video of the grade changes. The videographer was good, mostly unobtrusive, though he had a large tripod for the special dances at the reception. We’ll see how the rest goes we still have to have design sessions for the album/video etc.

Alex and Jasmine were amazing to work with. I didn't even notice they were there during the ceremony and reception. Same with Juan our videographer. They were easy to work with and super nice. They even brought us drinks while we were doing our first look. IAlex sent me some preview pics, and they are breathtaking. Can't wait to see all of them!!!

REVIEW - gibribuz: December 2010 wedding. DH and I didn’t know until a month before the wedding if videography was going
to fit into our budget. By that time, our first choice was already
booked. I spent hours looking at many videographer’s websites and did not
see anything I liked that was in our price range. I asked the
knotties and someone mentioned that a family member had used Christine Duggan
for their wedding and was very happy. I loved her enthusiasm and how
passionate she is about her work. Her prices are very reasonable.
She arrived on time the day of the wedding and worked wonderfully with the
photographer. We got our video about 3 months after the wedding and were
very happy with the finished product. She captured the day
perfectly. I definitely recommend her.
Daniel Lee Video (Dumont, NJ)
REVIEW - August 2011. I booked with Daniel after hearing rave reviews on the Knot and seeing some of his work, which I didn't think was amazing, but was decent for the price. Included in my package were supposed to be full day coverage, Blue-Ray DVD, several copies of DVDs and a DVD of the raw footage.
The day of the wedding, my ceremony was at 6:30 PM and Daniel and I exchanged e-mails prior to the wedding and he was aware of the ceremony time. He did tell me that it wouldn't be him the day of, but the people that would be there are highly professional and he vouched for them. The cameramen did not show up until after the ceremony. I noticed they weren't there when the ceremony was finished and I called them immediately from the bridal suite after the ceremony. I was so upset as they missed the most important part of the day. They showed up during the cocktail hour and they both looked extremely young, but I didn't want to judge them based on their age. They did not take the camera out much during the cocktail hour at all. They were unobstusive all night, but I am guessing because they tended to film from the guest(tables) area as opposed to the edge of the dance floor.
The day after the wedding, Daniel called me to apologize about what happened and assured me that I would still have a great wedding video, as he would do all the editing himself. He also told me that he would do extra montages. I trusted his word and judgement, so I expected a good video and sent him footage from the ceremony, which was shot by family members.
I received my video in April, along with a letter apologizing about the quality of the video. Daniel stated that he was proud of his editing however and although it could've been better, it wasn't that bad.
My husband and I watched the video and we couldn't get through the whole thing, as it was literally the worst video I have ever seen in my life. I cried because parts of the day that were important, were never captured or were completely cut out of the video. Sadly, the best footage is from the ceremony, which I sent to him from a family member. The video has me going down the aisle twice, but the editing was supposed to be great. The entrances during the reception were filmed from the side view as opposed to head on, so we really only saw our guests, as opposed to my husband and I, our parents or the bridal party. There were also a few people cut out of the entrances. The video itself was blury, so there was really no point to Blue-ray, even though I never received a blue-ray copy. During our first dance, the video cut out and into the father/daughter dance, then back into our first dance. Our music was dubbed over with horrible music, that I would in fact have on my do not play list. There is no chronological order to the video, as the dancing starts off with me saying goodbye to people (which clearly was at the end of the evening) and near the end there was footage from the beginning. There was maybe a total of 5 min of dancing footage with horrible music, he also dubbed over our second dance with the same song, but a different version that I hate. The dancing footage was also in slow motion, which seemed to try and drag it out to make it look longer. The montages (baby photos and courtship pictures) arre all at the end of the video, which is odd to me. I wish I could upload these videos for people to see, as these are not like the videos on his site.
I called Daniel immediately upon watching the videos and told him how disappointed I was and that I wanted a full refund, as well as the raw footage which I never received. He agreed that I would have everything by the end of April and apologized for the inconvenience. I waited until June and contacted him again and he assured me that he would send everything out by July 1st and I would get a confirmation e-mail. Finally on 8/8 I received the raw footage with no letter and no check. I contacted him demanding my money back by the end of the week and he asked me to sympathize with him, as he had 5 other people to pay back. I had an attorney contact him and he finally did send me back the money he owed me last week.
Honestly, I would give him less than a 1, however I finally did get a refund, but I can never get back my wedding day. I have no wedding video to show my children and I am appalled and embarassed to show my friends and family this video. It is a shame because I don't think Daniel himself is a horrible videographer (as I wouldn't know from experience because he didn't shoot my wedding himself). Unfortunately I am not the only person that this happened to.

REVIEW - Tara2316: We also used Daniel in October 2010. I was worried because I had a hard
time contacting him before the wedding. About 4 days before, we finally
spoke to review the wedding day timeline. I didn't have my contract on
me when we spoke, and I thought there were some things included (photo
montage and bridal prep) that he said it wasn't. But I later found out
it was and he wasn't there for it. So that is something we still need to
address. The day of, he was there (I've heard he sent other
people to shoot the weddings for some other people and they
were terrible) and very unobtrusive. However, there were some things
(such as guest interviews) discussed during our final meeting that
weren't done. As far as the production of our video, we were told 8-10
weeks. In November he asked for music choices, we gave our music in
December and just got our sample video last week. We're pretty
happy with the edited video and the end product. He's new to the wedding
scene and I think he needs to work some things out (ex: overbooking,
communication). But overall he did a good job for the price you pay.
REVIEW: Denise91980: October 2010 wedding. For video I used Daniel Lee. I cannot fully rate them until I get my
video. Unfortunately the day of, they did not show up for the ceremony
and I freaked out. They came around cocktail hour. I sent him footage
that others had from the ceremony and I will see how he does because he
said he will do all the editing himself. The day of was 2 young guys who
were making excuses as to why they were late. He was initially 1200 but
I only paid 400 because he waived the rest of what I owed him.
REVIEW - N/A: Video (including Bridal Prep, ceremony, cocktail hour,
reception), editing, 1 man/2 camera, various other elements (used June
2010): under $1500. Overall, our experience with Daniel Lee Video was extremely negative and was, by far, the biggest disappointment of our entire wedding. We had never met with Daniel because of the distance between where we lived and his base of operations but we did have a phone meeting prior to booking him and a few follow up calls between the time of booking and our wedding. Based on reviews and our phone meeting we decided to book him. My husband called him the Tuesday before the wedding to confirm and everything was all set. On the day of our wedding, the videographer, a man by the name of Ben, showed up at my door and told me that Daniel had overbooked and was in San Antonio. Ben told me that he had known for two weeks and was shocked I didn't know and felt badly for dropping the bomb on me about an hour before the ceremony. I called my husband to confirm that he did indeed confirm with Daniel earlier in the week and he said this was the first he had heard of Daniel not being there. If he had been sick or had a family emergency we would've been fine with it but hearing that he was overbooked, asked Ben to come two weeks before the wedding, and didn't tell us when we talked to him 3-4 days before the wedding has not sat well with us. After the wedding, we contacted Daniel to express our disappointment that we were led to believe Daniel would be filming and that someone else showed up the day of. Daniel told us that Ben would "exceed our expectations." Eleven months later, we finally got a sample of our video and it became clear that the quality of the video was worse than we could have ever imagined. There were four main problems with our experience with Daniel after the wedding and the video: (1) We began emailing him monthly 6 months after our wedding (and 3 months after we sent him all the material he needed) to get an update on when we could expect our video. Daniel frequently noted how busy he was, and other activities related to his interests outside of the wedding video business and told us starting in February 2011 that he would try to have the sample out by the end of the month. At this point, we are now aware that he did not even look at the footage until April 2011 and we did not receive the sample until May 2011 (wedding was June 2010); (2) Both the video and audio were extremely poor quality for a majority of the ceremony and the reception, to the point where even Daniel noted that much of it was unuseable (as examples, the footage selected for the big kiss was a shot of our kiss with a cousin standing in front of the stationary camera and we can just barely hear the readings during the ceremony); (3) the videographer, Ben, missed a key toast given by my husband's father at the reception; (4) There is no footage from the end of the ceremony until the introductions and we do not have all of the introductions of our families and bridal party. This is about 1.5 hours out of a 5.5 hour time period from the end of the ceremony to the end of the reception. Overall, it seems like the video was unprofessionally done and could have come from any relative with a video camera. The video is poorly framed and lit, is frequently out of focus (especially the footage of the ceremony), the sound is usually muffled or barely audible, and most of the shots taken by the handheld camera are shaky to the point that they are useless. The video is not anything close to what we expected, especially based on the video samples Daniel pointed us to before hiring him. We were severely disappointed with our experience with Daniel Lee Video since we do not have the video that we expected and wanted or even something remotely close to it. The package containing the video arrived with a cover letter apologizing for the quality of the video and the delay in getting it to us, and offering us a ~50% discount. Based on our conversation with Daniel expressing our extreme disappointment after receiving the final sample he voluntarily gave us a full refund plus everything included in the contract as well as the raw footage. We have finally received all the material and the full refund as of the end of June 2011, although Daniel had to send a replacement check for one he sent us that bounced. Do not hire Daniel Lee Video in any capacity, and tell your friends.

WEBSITEREVIEW - jcg98: November 2011. A+ I’ve known Dave for years, and always knew I would ask him to shoot my wedding. He is professional, communicative, unobtrusive and efficient – I had a 5-minute recap video within two weeks and all of our footage within a month. Highly recommend.

REVIEW - NikkiPSU: June 2011 wedding. I loved working with Greg and Ben! Everything they did that day was amazing, they met us at the salon at 9 am and were with us until the reception ended at 10pm! The locations which he suggested for our photos were absolutely breathtaking and I can't wait to see the prints and video. I will update my review on them once I receive proofs.

REVIEW - N/A: June 2011 wedding. I knew I wanted Sharonne from the start. Her style is so unique. She does the wedding video like a coming attraction for a movie. She is quite expensive, but worth it if you want something different. She was a pleasure to be around all day. Can't wait to see our footage.

GT Modern Creations (New York, NY)
REVIEW - rlavach: April 2012. A+* (pending final video) I had convinced myself that I had no need for a videographer because I’d never have the time to watch it. Well, the more I thought about it, the more I realized how much it would mean to me & my overseas family to have a video of the day. So, about 2 months before the wedding I signed a contract with GT Modern Creations with my grandfather’s generous & early wedding gift. We ‘met’ via Skype and from the start I knew they were for us. They are a very popular duo lately and I totally see why. Gabriel was super nice, answered all of my questions and knew exactly what he was doing. Due to distance, we did our final meeting over the phone where he helped me to see that we may not have enough time for pics & to do change the timing to do the first look much earlier. That was one of the best moves we made. The whole day went so much smoother. On the day-of, Gabriel, Caritza and their assistant arrived early and were totally unobtrusive the whole day. They were all so incredibly kind and knew exactly what to do so that we finished on time. They even had us re-do walking over for the first look that way there was no one standing behind & messing up the background. They stayed until the end of the reception and captured everything. I absolutely would recommend them to others.

REVIEW - Em72653: October 2011. A+ We added video 2 months before the wedding and we were on a strict budget so after lots of researching I found this video company which offered some of the best prices I have seen! And not only that, they didn’t use that obnoxious large video equipment that you mostly see at weddings, the ones that block half of the dancefloor. It was a small HD camera that was never in the way of anyone’s view and he used a pod, 1 pod instead of a tri-pod, so it was never ever noticeable. That was one of my husband’s stipulations about getting video, he didn’t want to notice it was there and we never did! It will be awhile until we see the video but I can’t wait to see all the stuff I missed and our vows!

They were really easy going and such sweethearts to everybody they delt with. The people over at Multivision created a package to fit my budget and were very professional.
Patrick Sweeney Photography (Rochelle Park, NJ)
REVIEW - kristen8040: May 2011 wedding. I first met Patrick when he shot my cousin's wedding in April. He's fun, energetic, and takes some really beautiful pictures. I decided to book him for photography and videography. He was always responsive and throughout the process and helpful with some other vendor recommendations. We took our Epics only a few weeks before the wedding, but based on how great they turned out, we knew we'd love our wedding pictures. He has a great mix of formals and candid shots. Day of we had two photographers and two videographers. Unfortunately for some reason DH didn't realize the photographer would be taking pictures when she got there and none of the guys were ready. Stacey the second shooter was really patient and luckily got some pictures in. Looking back there were a few pictures I had missed, but I blame myself for not giving Patrick a list of a few must-have shots. Overall Patrick did a great job at the wedding.
Tom Brant
REVIEW: September 2011. - A+, pending video Pros: Tom and his wife were very sweet. They arrived early, let me know that they were there, and were there for every moment of the wedding, in fact many of our guests commented to us that they think they will be in hours of the footage because they videographers were always around, and we felt the same way.Cons: None so far.
REVIEW - N/A: July 2011 wedding. We found Tom based on a knottie recommendation because we were in search of a good videographer who was affordable and who wouldn’t give us the run-around the way a lot of videographers in the area seem to. We also didn’t want all of the bells and whistles that come with many wedding videos – instead, we wanted a cleaned up recording of our entire day and a short highlight video all to just help us remember our wedding day and Tom was able to offer us exactly that for a great price. Tom and his wife are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever encountered, they’re incredibly professional, and they obviously love filming as they always had smiles on their faces! We never met in person with beforehand, but we emailed each other several times before the wedding and Tom was never anything short of a pleasure to communicate with. His wife acted as his second shooter and she, too, was an absolute pleasure to work with on our wedding day and really did everything she could to help keep me calm right before our first-look. They weren’t noticeable at all during the ceremony and reception and we actually forgot they were there at times. In fact, when I was going through some guest photos the other day I saw Tom and Maureen filming us in a lot of the shots, but I can’t for the life of me remember them being there at the time! So I know they were there filming us, but they really made it a point to not get in our (or our guests’) faces, which we’re really appreciative of. My husband and I truly can’t wait to see what Tom puts together for us as we have no doubt that we’re going to be beyond thrilled with the final product simply because of how highly recommended he came and because of his and his wife’s utmost professionalism and clear passion for filming! Thus far, Tom is a vendor I wouldn’t hesitate recommending to anyone and I’m so grateful for the knottie recommendation that put us in touch with him to begin with!

WEBSITE REVIEW: August 2011. (Alex) Throughout the planning process Alex and his wife Jackie have been great! Leading up to the wedding Jackie made multiple calls to me confirming that she had all the correct information, which put me at great ease! The day of the wedding Alex was fantastic! In fact, most of the night I didn't even notice him filming me until I would look up and see that he was always there capturing it all! Not once did I notice a bright light in my face. I can't wait to see my video!!

REVIEW - N/A: June 2011 wedding. Our videographer was great! Af first, I will confess that I did not want video - I was mostly focused on the photography, but now I cannot wait to see the video. Our videographer was amazing and bonus is that he was on the Sopranos so we had a celebrity at our wedding!!

Review -37butterknives: April 2011 wedding. Amazing - and a tip of the hat to the board! Michael captured practically every detail and emotion, and did it with such skill. The video was exquisite.
We got our DVD three months after the wedding - this was also when he posted the highlight reel.
One bride posted on the board that she was disappointed that Michael came to her wedding in jeans. I looked back at our photos that he appeared in and saw that he did the same at our wedding, even though our contract also stated he'd wear black from head to toe. However, we didn't notice, probably because his jeans were a dark blue. And we didn't care, probably because filmmakers aren't exactly known for being snazzy dressers, and also because our wedding's dress code was not super-formal. If you plan to use him and his attire matters to you, definitely stress that point with him.
